Hailing from Northern New Jersey, Corey “MATRIXX” is the artist, producer, and driving force behind Smile for the Camera. After years of working with artists across pop, hip-hop, and R&B, Corey has developed a production style that pulls from a wide range of influences. At its core, however, his music has always been rooted in metal, the genre that first inspired him to pursue music.

In September 2026, Corey returns to the genre that started it all with “Sinking,” the first release from Smile for the Camera. The project blends the aggression of modern metalcore with elements of EDM and hip-hop, creating a sound that is heavy, dynamic, and distinctly his own.
